getting around

hoboken is a wOnderful little town. there are many things to do/see here and also many things that are only a cab, train, ferry, bus, or path ride away.

so, before you can start exploring, you'll need to know how to get around. here's a guide for ya:

hoboken --> the big city

underground- the path - the cheapest/most convenient way to get into the city
runs all night (more frequently during rush hour)
costs $1.75 each way or $54.00 for an unlimited monthly pass ($35 cheaper than a monthly metrocard!)
2 lines
one - hoboken to jersey city (decent mall) to world trade center (easy access to wtc and tribeca)
two - hoboken to christopher st (west village), and then along 6th avenue making stops at 9th, 14th, 23rd, and 33rd

by sea - ferry - pricier, but a nice treat on a summer day

easy access to financial district and theatre district

2 hoboken stops- 14th street, and downtown at the nj transit terminal

by land - 126 bus or cab (cab cost approx $50 + toll + tip)

hoboken --> other places in jersey

short trips light rail (jersey city, weehawken, bayonne)

long trips rail (use this for a quick trip to meadowlands sports complex or newark airport)

hoboken --> hoboken

door to door service cab $5 (yellow cab) or $6 (other cabs) anywhere in hoboken
